ARGUIN, Lucie Marie (née Martine)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lucie Marie (Martine) Arguin. Lucie passed away peacefully at Providence Place in Moose Jaw on May 16, 2014 surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Charles, children: Jeannette (Al) Brisson, Hélène (Ron) Wilson, Henri (Donna), Caroline (Richard) Carr, Paul (Lorraine), Marcel (Mary), Marie-Line (Danny) Hansford, Robert (Dawn); eighteen grandchildren: Scott, Melissa, Alyshia, Alainna, Deny, Jesse, Bobby, Chantal, Jennifer, Danielle, Katelyn, Jeffrey, Jasmine, Ryan, Shaun, Kristin, Braden, Austin, and six great-grandchildren: Makenna, Peyton, Cain, Cade, Aiden and Brody. Lucie was born to Marcel and Georgette Martine on August 31, 1925. She grew up on a farm in Antler, SK with her sister and seven brothers. After earning her teacher’s certificate at Moose Jaw Normal School, Lucie accepted a teaching position in Courval, where she met her husband, Charlie. Charlie and Lucie were married on October 28, 1953 and raised their family of eight in the house that Charlie built in 1955. Lucie had many hobbies and interests – she was especially fond of music, crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Providence Place in Moose Jaw for the kindness and care that was given to Lucie during her stay there. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Per the family’s wishes a private family funeral will be held. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucie’s name to The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace at: Development and Peace, 1425 René-Lévesque Blvd West, 3rd Floor, Montreal QC H3G 1T7.
