ARNOLD, Arthur
August 8th, 1931 – February 16th, 2014
On Sunday, February 16th, 2014, Arthur Arnold, husband of Shirley Arnold, of Moose Jaw, SK passed away at the age of 82 years surrounded by his family. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Minto United Church, 1036 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK with Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the Shamrock Cemetery. He was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Melita Arnold (Stickle); brother, Leonard; brothers-in-law: Wayne Watson, Norman Venaas and Jim Duval; sister-in-law, Juanita Venaas; and in-laws, Meryle and Mary Robinson. Art is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Arnold (nee Robinson); 4 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren: daughter, Lynne Busch (Greg Moore) of Regina, SK and her children Jody Busch (John Krowina) of Saskatoon, SK and Michelle Busch (Darren Turner) of Regina, SK; daughter, Roxane Tremblay (JC) of Moose Jaw, SK and their children Farrah Wilson (Dean) of Gravelbourg, SK and Brent Tremblay (Jolyn) of Coderre, SK; son, Danny Arnold (Cona) of Midale, SK and their children Shayla Arnold of Estevan, SK and Cahlan Arnold (Karli) of Moose Jaw, SK; son, Curtis Arnold (Susan) of Calgary, AB and his children Shae-Lynn Arnold of Brandon, MB and Savannah and Shania Arnold of Calgary, AB; great grandchildren: Benton and McKenna Wilson of Gravelbourg, SK, Slade and Kipton Tremblay of Coderre, SK and Joshua Arnold of Moose Jaw, SK. Art is also survived by 13 brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Art grew up on a farm near Shamrock, attending school at Bolingbrook. Art farmed 3 miles south of Shamrock, SK for 50 years, was involved in the community by way of the Lions Club both in Shamrock and Moose Jaw, played and coached ball and hockey, was a long time season ticket holder of the Moose Jaw Warriors for 25+ years, was a Reeve in Shamrock, as well as sitting on numerous community boards. Art and Shirley were active volunteering, involved with the church and delivering Meals on Wheels. Art’s family remembers many family games of table tennis in the basement at Christmas and family time spent together. The family would like to express their thanks to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital staff of the medicine unit for their kind and compassionate care of Art.
