ELIZABETH (BETTY) BERRY
Betty Berry of Central Butte, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 at Moose Jaw Extendicare after a lengthy illness. Betty was born June 12th, 1933 in Victoria, BC, married Reg Berry in 1951 and moved to Central Butte that year. Betty worked tirelessly her entire life until her illness made it too difficult but desire pushed her past physical limits to help provide for her family’s needs. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Gertrude Woodward; her sister, Dorothy and brother-in-law, Jim; son, Bill and infant granddaughter, Jennifer; sisters-in-law, Myrtle and Hilda; brothers-in-law: Wilf, Alfred, Wally and Chester. She leaves to mourn her husband of 62 years, Reg; daughter-in-law, Gail, her children Lisa and Brennan; daughter, Wendy (Ron), their children Tana, Cory and Shannon; daughter, Lorraine (Randy), their children Dana, Janna and Darren; daughter, Kathie (Joe), her children Amy, Jonathan, Dustin and Dylan; daughter, Leann (Mike), her son Andrew; and son, David; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as Betty’s brother, Don (Eleanor); sister-in-law, Beatrice; brothers-in-law, Cliff (Irene) and Vern; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; as well as many dear friends. Special thank you to the staff of Moose Jaw Extendicare for their care these last few years. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Central Butte United Church, Central Butte, SK. Pastor Bill Thomson will officiate and interment will take place at Central Butte Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Assoc. of Saskatchewan Inc., 301-2550 – 12th Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
