Viola Ida Goohsen

Viola Ida Goohsen, aged 89 years of Carlye, SK, passed away on Saturday, December 13th, 2014.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Taves; brothers: Fred, Victor (Wes), Bill, Arthur (Art), Harold and Walter Heebner; and sisters: Ruby, Doreen, Olga, Gertrude and Mabel.  Viola will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diana Martin (Dennis Brittain) of Kenosee, SK and Ellen (Norm) Bemis of Saskatoon, SK; son, Ron (Dianne) Martin of Moose Jaw, SK; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Viola was born on February 18th, 1925 in the Glen Bain District, and moved to Vanguard and Swift Current, SK.  After she married Jake Goohsen, they lived in Gull Lake, SK and after her husband’s passing, moved to Kenosee Lake, SK where she spent her final years.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Baron officiating.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Viola’s Name may be made to the Alzheimer Assoc. of Saskatchewan Inc., 301 – 2550 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
