ELMER KLASSEN
December 31st, 1937 – April 6th, 2014
It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of a long-time Moose Jaw resident, husband, dad and grandpa. Elmer will be lovingly missed by his wife of 49 years, Loretta; children, Dwight (Shawna) and Mark (Patti); and grandchildren: Jace, Matt, Brandon and Jackson. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews, forever remembered as Uncle Elmer. Elmer was born in Central Butte as a twin, being the eighth child in a family of twelve. He met his soul mate, Loretta and they were married in 1964. Shortly thereafter they moved off the farm to Moose Jaw, where Elmer began a long and successful career in real estate. Throughout his almost 40 years in real estate, Elmer touched many lives through his caring and personal approach, always taking time to talk and smile. His accomplishments are numerous in the real estate profession including: 3 term President for the Moose Jaw Real Estate Board, Director for the Association of Saskatchewan Realtors, President of Association of Saskatchewan Realtors and CMHC Distinguished Realtor of the Year. Elmer was known for his quick wit and eagerness to share a humorous story. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. His ability to create a smile will be truly missed by his family and the community. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 10th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. For those so wishing, memorial donations in Elmer’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2M2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
