Dick Meacher
Dick Meacher, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2014 with his family by his side, after a brief hospital stay. Dick was born on May 22nd, 1927 in Tugaske, SK and was the second oldest of 3 boys. He was predeceased by his mother and father, 2 brothers, an infant daughter, an infant grandson and an infant great-grandson. Dick married the love of his life, Elsie on November 13th, 1948. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1958 and together they raised 5 children. His interest in Antique Cars led to his involvement in the formation of what is now Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village Museum, where he was a dedicated volunteer for 50 years. Many winters during his retirement were spent building Model T’s for himself and others. Dick will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Elsie; children: Gerald (Gina), Charlie (Louise), Marianne (Mark) Mann, Candace (Glenn) Kendall and Rosemarie (Curtis) Moggey; grandchildren: David Meacher, Shaun Meacher, Lance Moggey, Lorrie Moggey, Kevin Meacher, Chase Moggey, Chantel Fontaine, Meghan Kendall, Andrew Moggey, Matthew Moggey, Whitney Meacher, Crystal Moggey and Stephanie Kendall; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; a step-brother; 2 aunts; as well as numerous other relatives. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Shepherd officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
