Catherine Eileen Smith

Catherine Eileen Smith, aged 74 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, January 5th, 2014.  In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held.  She was born in Melfort, SK and married Harvey Smith on September 15th, 1956.  After raising her family, Catherine went back to school and graduated as a welder in 1975, becoming the first female welder to join the Sask Boiler Maker Local 555.  She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Carnduff; granddaughter, Cali-co Smith; 7 sisters and 4 brothers.  Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Harvey; sons: Tony, Terry, Tim, Trevor and Steven (Wendy); daughter, Gina Marie; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Lynn (Jim) Mathieson; as well as numerous other relatives.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Catherine’s name may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1 – 2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
