Norma Ethelyn “Ethel” Ward (Gould)
Norma Ethelyn “Ethel” Ward (Gould) of Moose Jaw, SK and formerly of the Mortlach District, passed away on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014. Ethel was born in Central Butte on June 20th, 1923 and attended Brampton, Robin Hood and Central Butte Schools. Employment took her to Mortlach, where she met the love of her life. She married Bob Ward on March 6th, 1943. They farmed for over 50 years. Ethel was a natural homemaker with baking, meals to the field and gardening. Vegetables found their way to many neighbors tables. Ethel was active in the community, Anglican Church, 4-H and Rebekah Lodge. She cherished visits from family and friends and loved to play cards, especially bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob; son, Russel; son-in-law, David Molde; grandson, Bobby Ward; and brothers, George and Ken Gould. Ethel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Charles (Betty) and Dennis; daughter, Helen Molde; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ward; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Bill (Shirley) Gould; sisters, Ella Brisson and Doris Mossman; sisters-in-law, Beryl Gould and Marg Ward; and numerous very special nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Dean Pinter will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, February 9th, 2014 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel’s name may be made to The Arthritis Society, 110 – 2550 – 12th Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1 – 2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9.
