MICHELLE RENEE IRENE WESTERMANN (Craig)
With great sadness, Michelle was taken away from us suddenly on Friday, February 21st, 2014. She will be joined in heaven by her grandparents: Tom and Jean Lowes, Tom and June Craig, Garnet and Mabel Guy, and John and Elizabeth Westermann; mother-in-law, Dianne Westermann; special Auntie, Donna Cave; and numerous other family and friends. Michelle will be dearly missed by her husband, Garnet; sons, Andrew (Jasmin) and Austin; father, John (Lori) Craig; mother, Linda (Lawrence) Odowichuk; sister, Jackie (Rob) Yee; brothers: Mike Craig and family, and Tommy Craig (Ashley Miller) and family; father-in-law, Rudy (Pauline) Westermann; sister-in-law, Melody (Jeff) Irwin and family; brother-in-law, Trent (Arlette) Westermann and family; as well as many, many other family, friends and co-workers. Michelle was born on July 17th, 1973 to John and Linda and graduated from Peacock Collegiate. It was while helping to sell Christmas Trees at Fas Gas that she met the love of her life “Isn’t destiny amazing” and on July 27th, 1991, she married Garnet Westermann. In December they welcomed Andrew to their world and in August 1993, Austin to complete the family. Michelle’s incredible strength was always apparent, first with Andrew’s early arrival and then with Austin’s long battle with cancer. She worked at Citizen’s All and Sask Liquor and Gaming Authority. She volunteered with Victim’s Services and took great pride in her career with the Canada Border Services Agency, where Michelle developed many relationships. Her integrity was always apparent and her contagious laughter and story-telling ability enabled Michelle to make friends easily and she valued them deeply. She was truly “one in a minion”. Not the best player on the team but a love of slow-pitch and her team “Crash and Burn” earned her the nickname of R.G. We all looked forward to her day off to enjoy the baking that she shared so generously. Her smile lit the room, her laughter filled it, her stories entertained. She will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Michelle’s name may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 917A Albert St., Regina, SK S4R 2P6 or the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, P.O. Box 309 Saskatoon, SK S7K 3L3. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
So many years gone, Michelle lives in infamy. Her laughter, infectious smile and commitment to her family are forever to be missed. May her and Garnet, rest together, in peace.
