BESSIE “BEA” SANDBECK (née Balfour)
Bea passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12th, 2015 at the age of 87 years. She was born the youngest of 13 children on the family farm in Mossbank, SK on April 15th, 1928. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Bessie Balfour (Clarke); her beloved husband and soulmate, Robert (Bob) Sandbeck; and all of her siblings. Bea entered back into the workforce after Bob passed away in 1971. She worked at the Providence Hospital for over 25 years, where she gained many friends. She loved to bowl and also loved to be surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Heather (Ron Pohl) and Judy (Ron) Warren; grandchildren: Jodie (Rob Hutchings), Stacey (Kelly Houston), Derrick Pohl, Lisa (Dave Kallay), Amanda (Rob Hornung), Nicole (Parry Pelletier) and Ashley (Jordan Tunstall); great-grandchildren: Matthew, Reese, Peyton, Finn, Zarek, Levyn, Tristen and Brooklyn; brother-in-law, Wally Sandbeck; sister-in-law, Marg (Orland) Jorstad; special niece, Sherlyn Acton; as well as many more nieces and nephews. Bea will be fondly remembered by all those who loved her warm, generous and lively spirit. We would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for the wonderful and compassionate care Bea received over the last couple of years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bessie’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan Inc, 301-2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
