Ethel June Schmidt

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and Gagoo, Ethel June Schmidt on Monday, September 21st, 2015.  She was predeceased by her mother and father, Walter and Ina Gwilt; as well as her mother and father-in-law, Anna Mary and Meinrad Schmidt.  Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Maurice; children: Lori (Ron), Tracey (Clint), Stewart (Eran) and Lindsay (Brian); grandchildren: Erin, Amanda, Charli, Leigha and Emily; aunts Dolly and Betty (Merv); as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  She was an avid golfer and spent many years volunteering at Chez Nous and the Royal Canadian Legion in Moose Jaw, where she made many life-long friends.  Ethel was honoured with a lifetime membership for her service to the Legion.  A Celebration of Ethel’s Life will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2015 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 268 High St W, Moose Jaw, SK.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ethel’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
