Sylvia Elizabeth Cave

Sylvia Elizabeth Cave passed away peacefully at Extendicare in Moose Jaw, SK on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 at the age of 82 years.  Sylvia was born the second child of three children to Geza and Elizabeth (Alice) Kiss at Young, SK on June 22nd, 1935.  Her mother passed away when all three children were very young and they went to live with their Grandma Bologh.  Geza then married Mary Strohber and they moved the family to a farm at Young.  The family moved to Tugaske, SK a few years later.  It was here where she met Stanley Cave, her love.  They were married on April 8th, 1953.  She then became a dedicated farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother.  Many great years were spent on the farm and even more when they moved into town.  She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth; father, Geza; step-mom, Mary; sister, Joyce; brother, Ted; father and mother-in-law, Sam and Kate; daughter-in-law, Donna; and her youngest son, Wayne.  Sylvia will be missed by her loving husband, Stan; sons, Clayton (Sarah) and Bruce (Dianne); 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Phyllis); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Mom was a hard worker and everything she did was done to perfection.  She loved sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Many people in Tugaske had their clothes sewed or altered by her.  The grandchildren also benefited from her sewing skills.  Sylvia also liked to dance, play cards, Ramoli (with the ladies for pennies), crossword puzzles, and a special joy was playing the piano, something that her and Wayne could do together.  The family would like to say thank you to the staffs at Extendicare, Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, EMS and Chez Nous for taking such good care of her while in your care.  Also Dr. Marx whose caring ways made mom feel special.  The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Sharon Schultz will officiate and interment will take place at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Sylvia’s name may be made to STARS Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK S4W 1A3 or a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
