Clise “Chris” Mayson
Clise “Chris” Mayson, aged 86 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Chaplin, SK passed away on Monday, April 2nd, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Martha Schantz; husband Thomas; sisters, Beatrice Haliwyz and Sylvia Picon; brothers: Tony Schantz, Striling Schantz, and Bob Schantz; and life-long friend, Margaret Molde. Chris will be lovingly remembered by her children: Diana (Harry) Burnham, Dr. Thomas Mayson, Ron (Debbie) Mayson, Doug (Sherri) Mayson, and Paul (Karen) Mayson; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Fronie McGinn; brothers, Sherwood Schantz and Elwood Schantz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Chris was born April 10th, 1931 in Rush Lake, SK and grew up on a farm north of Chaplin. She went to school at Bothwell and Chaplin, and worked at the Chaplin Café and later at Macleod’s in Moose Jaw. Chris enjoyed travelling with her husband Tom, which included going on tour buses in Europe and driving to Alaska in their Boler Trailer. She enjoyed going for coffee at the Co-op, daily walks, knitting, and tending to her geraniums and african violets. In keeping with Chris’ wishes, a Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’ name may be made to the Providence Place Foundation, 100 – 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
