David James Alexander Message (Jim)
David James Alexander Message (Jim), aged 85 years of Regina, SK passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital on Thursday, May 10th, 2018. He was predeceased by his mother, Katherine (Alexander); father, Herbert; and sister, Isabelle Moats. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Florence (Frentz); son, David (Carolyn); daughter, Marlene (Darren) Johnston; grandchildren: Jaime (Reid), Justin (Ashley), and Nicole (Chris); great-grandson, Hudson; sister, Florence Padfield; and special friends: Barney, Michelle, and Hunter Brice. Jim was born in Avonlea, SK on July 23rd, 1932 to Herbert and Katherine Message. He married the love of his life, Florence, on October 18th, 1958 in Moose Jaw, SK. Jim lived the first 83 years of his life on the family farm near Ormiston, SK. He raised cattle and farmed the hills with his son until he moved to Regina in 2015. Jim was an active member of the Ormiston Baptist Church and was a drop anything for anyone kind of guy. He loved his family dearly and “his” dogs Boy and Rev. He will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Luther will officiate and a private family interment will take place at Avonlea, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jim’s name may be made to Operation Smile, Suite 204 – 375 University Ave, Toronto ON M5G 2J5.
