Carl Peterson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carl Peterson announces his passing on Monday, February 5th, 2018 at the Central Butte Regency Manor, with family by his side. Carl was born March 19th, 1922 on the family farm near Central Butte, SK to Charles and Edith Peterson. He spent his entire life farming, first with his brothers and then with his two sons and nephew. Besides farming, he also had a passion for sports. He played for the “Legendary” Aquadell Flyers baseball team, and coached the Central Butte Flyers ladies softball team to 7 consecutive Provincial titles, which was very special with his wife and two daughters on the team. Carl thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play whatever the sport might have been. He never missed a hockey, football or baseball game on TV as well. Carl also enjoyed playing cards and crokinole, attending family gatherings, and especially visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He would always listen intently when his grandchildren would tell him what was happening in their lives, and would often share a story from his life as well. His grandchildren meant the world to him! He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edith Peterson; father and mother-in-law, David and Emma Coote; brothers, Harry and Gus; brothers-in-law: Dave Mayson, Jim Blanchard, Bob Farmer, Archie Coote, John Coote, and Ervin Lindquist; sisters-in-law: Lois Peterson, Gwen Joynes, Hazel Hjelte, Maybelle Blanchard, and Ethel Peterson; son-in-law, Brian Fowler; and grandson, Adrian Fowler. Carl leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years, Violet; daughter, Lois (Gary) Dodds and their children Michael, Mark (Shelley) and Tiffany (Gavin Little); daughter, Edith Fowler (Jerry Gerbrandt) and her children Myron (Crystal), Dion (Blaire), Corinne (Dave Slinn), and Natasha (Wyatt Brown); son, Wayne (Lydia) and their children Brennan (Rachel), Evan (Megan), Tyler (Deandra), and Melissa (Lloyd Cole); son, Dale (Marjorie) and their children Travis, Nicole, and Kari; great-grandchildren: Olivia Little, Georgia, Lexi and Page Fowler, Grayson and Oakley Fowler, Kenzie Slinn, Emery Brown, Mason Peterson, and Madison Cole; brothers: Joynes (Evelyn), Merlin, and Norman (Laura); sisters, Dorothy Frombach and Marjorie Farmer; sisters-in-law, Gladys Lindquist and Marilyn Coote; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and care staff at Central Butte Regency Hospital for their loving and compassionate care provided to Carl. A Private Family Service will be held on Monday, February 12th, 2018 and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Central Butte Regency Manor Auxiliary, Box 361, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0.
