Coleen Francis Smith (née Mullan)
Coleen Francis Smith (née Mullan), aged 71 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Monday, February 5th, 2018. Coleen was born in Edmonton, AB on October 21st, 1946. Growing up, she spent many weekends and holidays at the lake, and later with her son David as well. Coleen’s first career was a hair dresser, a skill that served her well for many years. She also periodically worked as a server in the hotel industry. Coleen worked very hard to put herself through university and earned a degree as a secretary and book keeper. She owned and managed the Midtown Motel Cafe, enjoyed baking, cooking and canning, and later on sold lots of her baking/canning at the farmers market where she became affectionately known as “The Pie Lady”. She also had an endearing love for animals. Coleen will be sadly missed by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary “Molly” and Elmer; brothers: Edward, Bob, and Roy; and sister, Annamae. Coleen will be lovingly remembered by her son, David (Norma) Klatt; grandsons, Daniel (Daphene) and Branden (Raeanne); great-granddaughters, Hailey and Bree; sisters: Isobelle (Roger), Maureen, Kathleen, and Marilyn; brother, Jim; and special friend and companion, Chewy. The family would like to thank the staff of Extendicare Moose Jaw for all of the kindness that was shown to our mother and grandmother. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 11th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Dave Foley will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
