Steve Allen Stephenson
It is with great sadness that the family of Steve Allen Stephenson announces his passing on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at the age of 49 years, due to a heart attack. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Melville and Martha Stephenson, Peter and Dorothy Trumbley; and his father, Charles Stephenson. Steve will be loving remembered by his mother, Jean Stephenson; son, Tyler Stephenson; the mother of his son, Dawn Chow; brother, Jim (Cherie) Stephenson; nieces, Sammy Stephenson and Josée Pelletier; nephew, Luc Pelletier; great-niece, Aeris (daughter of Sammy); as well as a large extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends, including his best friend and business partner for many years, Darrell Sarafin. Steve always had a special place in his heart for Sarah Nelson and her children Tyler, Tyson and Kiah. Steve was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK. As a child, Steve could always be found on a hockey rink or at a ball field and this is where he met many of his lifelong friends. There were many rounds of golf with his brother and friends, which always ended with one of them a few dollars richer and definitely beers on the patio. Steve was a great storyteller… Well… I am sure you can all recall a story or two and you can hear him laughing. He was always up for a round of golf, a fire and beers with friends. He had a smile that could light up a room and one that will be remembered by many. Everyone who met Steve always left with a new friend and a great story to tell the next day. We will miss your stories, your laugh, and your amazing smile. Heaven just drafted a hell of a homerun hitter and a really great guy. “Stick”, we will always love you and you’ll forever be in our hearts. Steve’s life may have been cut short but the memories he made will touch our lives for years to come. A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Flats Ball Diamonds. Everyone that knew Steve is welcome ~ please bring a lawn chair and help us celebrate “Stick” one last time.
Farewell My Friend
It was beautiful as long as it lasted
The journey of my life.
I have no regrets whatsoever
save the pain I’ll leave behind.
Those dear hearts who love and care…
And the strings pulling at the heart and soul…
The strong arms that held me up
When my own strength let me down.
At every turning of my life
I came across good friends,
Friends who stood by me,
Even when the time raced me by.
Farewell, farewell my friends
I smile and bid you goodbye.
No, shed no tears for I need them not
All I need is your smile.
If you feel sad do think of me
for that’s what I’ll like
when you live in the hearts
of those you love, remember then
you never die.
