RAYMOND A. STEWART
January 14th, 1927 – May 24th, 2018
It is with sad hearts that our family announces the passing of Raymond Stewart, aged 91 years of Moose Jaw, SK, beloved husband of Marian. Ray leaves three daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy Goad (Bruce), Debbie Richards (Dave), and Diane Stewart (Greg Shafley). Those who called him grandpa were: Johanna, Tom, Katie, Elizabeth, Stephen, Jennifer, Andrew and their spouses. He will also live on in his six great-grandchildren: Alice, Lauren, Kasper, Benny, Liam and Cameron. Ray was one of four boys who lived with his family on a farm at Thames Road, near Exeter, Ontario. He met the love of his life, Marian, while in high school. He studied at the University of Western Ontario where he earned a Master’s Degree in physics and chemistry. After graduating, Marian and Ray were married on October 1st, 1949 and made their first home in Ottawa, ON. His next career move was to Sarnia, ON to work at Polysar in the research division. He moved to several jobs within the company including time in Arnhem (Netherlands). Raymond was a quiet man with many skills and interests. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golf, bridge, travelling, and was an active member of Central United Church in Sarnia. He was a thoughtful mentor, a friend to many, an exemplary boss, and most of all, a man who adored his wife and was tremendously proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the kind home care workers who went above and beyond the call of duty to make Ray’s life in Moose Jaw so peaceful. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Reverend Linda Tomlinson Seebach officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s name may be made to Home Care – Five Hills Health Region c/o Crescent View Clinic, 131 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9.
