Vernon Hogg

Vernon Hogg, aged 82 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away suddenly on Monday, October 29th, 2018.  He was predeceased by his father, Alfred; mother, Violet; and brother-in-law, Cecil Bechtold.  Vernon has left to mourn, his wife of 50 plus years, Phyllis; son, Randy (Tammy); grandchildren: Scott (Carolyn), Courtney (Curtis), and Cody; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Adeline Bechtold; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four legged companion, Opey.  Vernon was born in July of 1936 on the family farm 3 miles north of Stoney Beach, SK, where he farmed until his retirement in 1991. They then moved to Buffalo Pound Lake where they resided for 12 years before moving to Moose Jaw.  Vernon loved to play sports, from hockey to fastball to curling. Later in his life, Vernon rarely missed a curling game on TV. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Stony Beach Cemetery, Stony Beach, SK.  A Memorial Tea will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St W, Moose Jaw, SK. Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Vernon’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
