Ambrose Alexander Coghill
Ambrose Alexander Coghill of Moose Jaw, SK. passed away on December 23rd, 2016 at the age of 95 years. He was born in Congress on July 10th, 1921. After graduating grade 12 in Assiniboia, Ambrose joined the Royal Canadian Air Force Bomber Command. He fought in World War II as a mid-upper air gunner on a Halifax Mark VII Aircraft. When released from service he worked at Scott National Fruit in Moose Jaw. In 1947 Ambrose started his career with the Moose Jaw Union Hospital as an orderly, then moved on to medical record librarian and retired as director of purchasing in 1985. While working at the hospital he met the love of his life, Jessie McLeod. They were married on November 24th, 1948. Together they built their home where he resided for 65 years until his passing. They raised four children: Jane (Jim) Cleniuk, Matthew (Emma) Coghill, April (Daryl) Hudson and Veryl (Lyle) Coghill. Ambrose enjoyed his eight grandchildren: Kristin, Kayla, Carson, Aaron, Blade, Amber, Shayle, Levi and his five great grandchildren. Dad will be greatly missed by his brother Cameron Coghill (Jeanette), sister Williamina Hillmer, sisters-in-law Helen and Andrea Coghill as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad valued family and friends who will remember his quick wit, stories and conversation, and his generous nature. The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, December 30th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Dave Foley officiating.
