She grew up in Moose Jaw, SK and attended Queen Elizabeth Elementary School and Vanier Collegiate High School. Val had many adventures and loved the Sturgis Bike Rally for many years, Thunder in the Valley and events where she was usually the life of the party. She shared her stories from events, travels and other life adventures openly. Val’s pet dogs were the piece of her life that brought her the most happiness. Her pitbull, Sasha, passed away April 18th, 2016. They enjoyed a short six years together. Val loved teaching Sasha new commands and feeding her countless non-dog treats. She was predeceased by her parents, Rex and Pearl Girard; and foster parents, Pearl and Ernie.
