Alfred Ernest Hanslien
Alfred Ernest Hanslien of Marquis, SK, was born May 6th, 1945 in Glendon, AB and passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16th, 2016 after a lengthy struggle to regain his health. He was predeceased by his Dad and Mom Hanslien, Sigvart and Virginia. Alfred will be truly missed by his wife, Donna and dog, Tuffy; stepchildren: Stacy Silver, Jeff Jarvis, Cassandra Raposo, Keith and Kevin Fedoretz, and their families; brothers and sisters: Phil (Pat), Grace (John) Popyuk, Timothy (Jan), Dan (Kelli), Beth (Byron) Crabb, Evelyn (Stacy) Millions and their families. Alf was an avid outdoorsman who loved his camping, hunting and fishing, and telling the stories about his adventures. He organized an annual gopher/fishing week for his brothers, which became a family reunion of all the siblings. Alf was an amazing handyman who could fix almost anything. He appreciated his many, many friends and hunting partners, and treasured their shared times. Alf loved his family and their support. The family would like to thank Dr. Geyer, the capable and caring nursing staff at the many hospitals that Alf spent time in, as well as the Five Hills Home Care staff. A Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 with a program to start at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alf’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.
