Brenda Lee Smith

Brenda Lee Smith, aged 67 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 with her family by her side.  Brenda was born April 4th, 1949 in Weyburn, SK to John LaSalle and Flora LaSalle (née Fowler).  She and her brother, Jack LaSalle, attended Haig Elementary School.  She later moved to Ogema, then to Bengough where she graduated high school.  Brenda continued her education in Nurses Training at the Grey Nuns in Regina, SK.  Upon graduation she met and married Delano Smith.  She started her long nursing career in Moose Jaw at the Providence Hospital.  She later nursed at Providence Place and Home Care.  Brenda and Del had four children: Delaine (Adam), Shane, Lynley (Ryan), and Christopher.  Brenda was a wonderful grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren:  Alysha, Rylan, Sean, Shya, Jacoby, Deja and Lukas.  Throughout her life, Brenda had many amazing friends and co-workers.  She enjoyed spending time with each one of you.  Our family thanks you for your friendship.  A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation Center, 1396 3rd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK.  In honour of Brenda’s courageous battle with cancer, we ask that donations in her name be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 in lieu of flowers.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
