Madeleine Ellen Tatton

Madeleine Ellen Tatton, aged 83 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 with her family by her side.  She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anne; husband, Rupert; sisters: Isabel, Phylis and Christina; brothers: Carl, Jack, Sam, Guy and Ted; as well as special family: Jim and Margaret Cox, and Norman and Jo Aldred.  Madeleine is survived by her son, Norman; daughter, Michelle (Dwight) and their children Gerritt and Lily; brother, Robert; sisters, Bernice and Ann; and special sister, Patricia Cox.  Madeleine grew up on the family farm south of Medstead, SK.  She spent some time in the Canadian Air Force and then worked as a manager at Woolworth’s in Saskatoon for 25 years.  She married the love of her life, Rupert, in August 1958.  When Madeleine was blessed with Norman in July of 1975, she retired from her work to take on a much bigger job as a mother and homemaker.  She was then blessed with a daughter, Michelle in February 1978.  Madeleine loved watching Coronation Street, cooking and was a great baker.  Her chili, stew, roast, buns and bread where in a class of their own.  She was also very involved with the Cubs and Scouts for over 25 years, and enjoyed reading and flowers as well.  “Tiny”, her little Shitzu dog was another love in her life.  Madeleine was always a sharp dresser and stayed in the best shape she could.  She loved to give any items or clothing to the Salvation Army that she thought they could use.  She worked hard her whole life and was a loving and dedicated, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was so proud of Norman and Michelle and loved her family.  Madeleine was a wonderful, caring and giving woman.  In keeping with Madeleine’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Madeleine’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Surtees Funeral Director 306-693-4550
