Joseph “Joe” Romany
Joseph “Joe” Romany, aged 69 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. Joe was the oldest sibling in our family, being born in Toronto, ON in 1949 before moving to Saskatchewan in 1961. He spent most of his life in Moose Jaw, but also spent some time living and working in Calgary, AB and Saskatoon, SK when he was younger. One of Joe’s favourite past times throughout his life was fishing and when he didn’t have his hook in the water, many of the friends he made over the years knew how much of an avid music fan he was of Elvis Presley. There wasn’t an Elvis song produced that Joe didn’t enjoy and many times sang along with. During many of his last retired years, he lived with and cared for his great 4-legged companion, Smokey the cat. Joe was always caring with his family and especially had a heart for children. At a family meal, he would be the last one in the kitchen, making sure everyone else got their food first. If anyone needed help, he wouldn’t even have to think about it if you asked him. He would not hesitate to run out and buy a new bike for a special nephew or niece like Robert and Emma. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia “Jean” Roberts; and brothers, Jim and John. Joe leaves behind his brother, Jerry; sister, Susan; nephew, Jordan (Matt); niece, Patti and her children Robert and Emma; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and of course his loving furry friend, Smokey the cat who is being well looked after. In keeping with Joe’s wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
