John Clarence Wilson
John Clarence Wilson, aged 80 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Monday, February 8th, 2016. John was born on August 17th, 1935 and was the second son of Elizabeth and Chester Wilson. He received his education at Summerside School in Archydal, Moose Jaw Tech and Moose Jaw Teachers College, as well as at the University of Regina where he received his B.Ed. John taught school for many years, mainly in Moose Jaw at Riverview Collegiate and Palliser Heights as the shop teacher for woodwork and drafting. After retiring in 1985, he lived on the farm where he put up hay for the horses and for other people. They always said that his was the best hay ever. He enjoyed his time in his workshop building things and visiting with anyone who came along. John was a Past President of the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company and Moose Jaw Humane Society, and sat on the board of the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Douglas; sister-in-law, Connie; and infant sister, Barbara. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Annetta (née Shedeck); son, Perry (Jane) Wilson of Porcupine Plaine, SK; daughter, Donna (Herb) Hammer of Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Marshall, Blaise and Chris Wilson, Kirstyn and Kevin Hammer, and their special friends Allie Atter, Marci Detwiller and Kaden Dauter; brother, Ralph Wilson; sister-in-law, Beverly Wilson; nieces, Dianne Wilson and Laurie Marter; nephew, Bradley Wilson; as well as aunts, cousins and many close friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Linda Tomlinson-Seebach will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in John’s name may be made to the Five Hills Health Region Palliative Care Nurses, Crescent View Clinic, 131 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9 or the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
