Mary Jeannine Allen

With sad hearts we announce the passing of Mary Jeannine Allen on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 at the age of 88 years.  She was born on December 19th, 1928 in Courval, SK.  Mom spent the majority of her life in Moose Jaw.  In 1950, she married Fred Allen and raised two daughters.  After Fred’s passing in 1990, she met long-time companion Herb Rasmussen.  Mom worked hard throughout her life at various places including Grant Hall, Super Meats and Pioneers Lodge.  She was also involved with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Eagles Club.  Mom enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed her travels with Herb and learning to cook in her late sixties.  Mom was never without a smile on her face, love in her heart and a Kleenex in her hands.  Mary leaves to mourn her companion of over 25 years, Herb Rasmussen; daughters, Marilyn (Jose Rojas) of Chile and Sandi (Pat Allen) of Moose Jaw; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.  A special thank you to Dr. W. Geyer and the medical staff at the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Mom, as well as a thank you to Rece Allen, Mary’s grandson, for his love, dedication and support in Nana’s last days, ensuring she was not alone.  As per Mary’s request no funeral service will be held.
