Dena Dora Braun

Dora Braun of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017.  Her diagnosis of Brain Cancer in April was shocking and swiftly took her from us.  Dora was born on May 20th, 1931 to Henry and Mary (Unruh) Siemens in Indian Head, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, younger brother Ben, and her husband Art.  She is survived by her daughter, Jewell (Tim) Vanstone of Lang, SK; their children: Tyler (Jolene) Vanstone of Moose Jaw, SK; Amy (Wil) Lane of Conroe, Texas; Derek (Grace) Vanstone of Kingston, ON; and Heather (Zack) Vilagos of Regina, SK; by her son, Graham (Pam) Braun of St. Albert, AB and his daughter Haley Braun of Sherwood Park, AB; also by her great-grandchildren: Evrett Lane, Lucy and Charles Vanstone.  She is also survived by dear sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.  Dora started school in Indian Head, SK and continued school in Regina, SK after the family moved there.  She never forgot her roots but was happy to embrace life in Regina in the early 1940’s.  She loved to tell stories of their early life there.  Dora loved words and worked as a stenographer and typist and later moved on to Medical Stenographer, proudly transcribing medical reports until her retirement in 1996.  She loved to garden, sew, cook, entertain and play games, spend time with her family, and make others happy.  She had a way of bringing out the best in people and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 18th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dora’s name may be made to the Echo Lake Bible Camp, 806 SK-56, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK S0G 1S0.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Director 306-693-4550
