Anita Emilie Dailey (Barthel)
Anita was the first born daughter of Alma and Alfred Barthel, born on September 30, 1941. She grew up in Regina and attended Wetmore School and Balfour Tech. She married her high school sweetheart Allan Dailey in 1963 at Holy Rosary Church in Regina. They were together for fifty three years, eleven and one half months. Together they raised two boys, Sean (Laura) and Philip (Tanya). She has 5 grandchildren – Samantha, Kaitlin, Cassidy, Rees, and Matthew and one great grandchild, Nevaeh. She was predeceased by her parents and survived by her Sister Linda (Glen) [Daughters Tara (Trevor), Glennice (Lane) and Leanne (Chad)]. Anita was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a stay-at-home mom until the boys went to school, then she became a teacher’s aide. Prior to marriage, and when the boys were older she was a secretary and executive assistant. She was very professional in her work life. Anita was a very meticulous housekeeper picking up after Allan for these many years. She was a fabulous cook and baker of bread and other delights. Until the last couple of years, she spent most of her time in her garden and in her kitchen enjoying her home. She also enjoyed the company of her friends and neighbors and enjoyed her crafts, including needlepoint, painting and quilting. When the boys were young she was very involved in family life and activities, skating, skiing, hiking, fishing and camping, winter and summer. She loved camping and was nearly always the first one up in the morning, rousting everyone out of their sleeping bags, stoking the fire, making bannock and getting breakfast ready in time to get everyone out fishing in time for the morning bite – herself included! Anita’s will was loved and will be missed by all, friends and family included. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As Anita’ issues of recent years have been the result of a Parkinson’s related disease among other complications, please consider making a donation in lieu of flowers to a brain disease charity of your choice in her name. Ie: Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis etc. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
