William John MacKay
It is with great sadness that the family of William John MacKay (John), aged 55 years of Moose Jaw, SK, announce his passing on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 from complications of COPD. John was predeceased by his parents, Jeff and Lil MacKay of Moose Jaw and will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Mike (Kathy); nephew, Greg; sister, Penny (Gord); as well as numerous aunts and cousins. John moved with his family to Moose Jaw in 1977 and he continued to live in the community throughout his adult life. In his early adult years John was affected by mental illness and required the ongoing support of his mental health team and caregivers through the remainder of his life. The family would like to thank his mental health team, house parent, Doreen who supported him for a number of years, as well as his most recent house parents, Glen and Corinne who welcomed John into their home and provided a safe and supportive place to call home. Their support enabled John to remain in the community and maintain his independence. John enjoyed living in his home, he felt that he was at a place that supported him well. John’s cremains will be returned to the family and he will be remembered at a private memorial, with a final resting place to be determined by family. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
