
Donald Arthur Pequin
Donald Arthur Pequin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Elsie Pequin; son, Dustin Pequin; sisters, Cheryl Riendeau and Donna Tindall; in-laws, Paul and Mable Nichvalodoff; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Nichvalodoff and Gary Hyland. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Flo Pequin; son, Cory (Kelsey) Pequin; step-son, Jerry Stock; grandchildren: Taylor, Lucas, and Raelynn; sisters, Laurie Acott and Judy (Ed) Daschuk; brother, Gary (Francine) Pequin; sisters-in-law, Sharon Nichvalodoff (Bill Doud) and Julie Nichvalodoff (Dave O’Neil); brother-in-law, Mark Reindeau; as well as many other cherished relatives and friends. Don was also a proud father to Jerry and Tammy from an earlier marriage.
As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Donny touched many lives with his warmth and wit. Don’s working life reflected his wide-ranging talents. He was a truck driver, mechanic, carpenter, groundskeeper, and a classic car enthusiast.
A lover of cowboy poetry, Don often recited verses that he had written, which captured the rugged beauty of prairie life, the family farm, and the animals he loved. His legacy of love, humour, resilience, and storytelling will live on in all of us.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw and the Regina General Hospital for their care and compassion.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A time of fellowship and lunch will follow at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St W in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Box 2414, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4 or the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank, 270 Fairford St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1V6.
