Jeannette Marion Benson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannette Marion Benson. Our beloved mom, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Jeannette was born in Moose Jaw, SK December 26, 1940. She stayed in Moose Jaw the majority of her life, with a few moves here and there but ultimately ended back in Moose Jaw. She worked at the Angus Campbell Centre for the majority of her career where she made a difference everyday. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and loved being able to watch them grow up. From hosting sleepovers at her house for her grandbabies, being the best scorekeeper at basketball games to making the best poppycock at Christmas time. She always showed up for her grandchildren, and eventually for her great grandchildren when they arrived. She was a staple of her family.
She was predeceased by her son, Kelly Benson; Daughter, Tammie Crone; brother, Dwight Benning. Jeannette is survived by her daughter Shelly Fox; brother, Wayne; Sisters, Barb and Bev.
We would like to express our gratitude for the care at the pioneer lodge that she received, the staff always made Jeannette smile and comfortable.
At Jeannette’s request there will be no memorial service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
To Jeannette’s family – deepest condolences to you all from Lindale School. For many years Grandma Jeannette was a fixture at Lindale School watching and cheering on her grandchildren. You could always count on her to be ready to help her family with whatever was needed. She will be missed.

I was just thinking of you. I remember many hours of drinking coffee and visiting with you at our kitchen table. You had a positive impact on my young self. Thanks for caring about me. I will never forget you.
To Jeannette’s family. Sending love and condolences. I have fond memories of Her and I’m sure she will be missed dearly.
My heart hurts at the loss of my beloved sister-in-law and friend of 62 years . she is in a much better place , free from pain and sorrow , reunited with family. I will love you forever and always Jeannette.
I’ve often wondered how Jeanette was doing & hoped to meet her around Moose Jaw after we moved here. She was so easy to visit with & we loved her dedication to right living choices. We are grateful for the season of life we shared with her.
Jeannette endured a run of heartache and sorrow over the last several years that seemed to never end. As one episode came to an end something else replaced it. She suffered through the loss of two of her three children which is something that no parent should have to endure. She had to endure the pain of her illness and the loss of her independence. She fought her illness for a considerable amount of time, surviving longer than many thought was possible. Now her trials and tribulations are at an end.
REST IN PEACE,
Aunt Jeannette
