Edwin Pahlke (Ed/Grouch)
March 9th, 1936 – March 3rd, 2017
After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Ed passed away on his terms on Friday, March 3rd, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Tina Pahlke; in-laws, Alex and Dolly Deibert; brothers, Abe and Jim; sisters, Margaret and Ann; sister-in-law, Elsie; and brother-in-law, Dan. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Amelia (Millie); daughter, Debbie-Ann (John); son, Edward (Cheryl); grandsons: Matt, AJ, Jon and Ryan; sister, Tina; brother-in-law, Sherol; sister-in-law, Mildred; special nephews and niece, Greg and Bev Diebert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and many friends and neighbours. Ed served in the RCAF-CAF for 34 years and after retiring, worked as a commissionaire for a number of years. He was a member of the Legion and of the FSNA, known as the National Association of Federal Retirees. Thank you to the staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, and Pioneer Lodge Memory Lane. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Legion Rites will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 or the Saskatchewan Lung Association, Box 58000, Saskatoon, SK S7K 7Y4.
