Dennis Frank Pomeroy
Dennis Frank Pomeroy, aged 69 years of Regina, SK, passed away suddenly at the Regina General Hospital on Thursday, February 9th, 2017. Dennis was born on March 24th, 1947. He was a teacher for 31 years, teaching in Hodgeville, Foam Lake, and Yorkton, SK before retiring in Regina in 2000. Dennis coached volleyball and curling. He was involved with Sask Volleyball for 47 years, becoming a Life Member and served as an Executive Director. Dennis became a National Certified Referee and was the Chairman of the Canadian Referee Committee, as well as a Referee Manager for international beach volleyball. He was a director on the Sask Curling Executive for 12 years and served as president. Dennis loved gardening and shared his bounty with many neighbours. As a good neighbour, he helped out whenever needed and loved visiting with them all. He enjoyed socializing, having BBQ’s, was an avid reader, and loved to travel. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Edith Pomeroy; and will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Linda Pomeroy. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 17th, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Dave Foley will officiate and interment will take place in Central Butte Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dennis’ name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
