Melvin Sander Swanson
Melvin Sander Swanson aged 86 years of Central Butte, SK, passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at Regency Manor. Melvin was born in Hume, SK on August 28th, 1938, to parents, Edwin and Lena Swanson; and married Ann Currie on November 15th, 1966.
Melvin worked various jobs, including as a farm hand, grader operator, mechanic at CCIL and Berg Farm Equipment, before farming and owning a garage with his best friend, Larry Small. Due to his failing health, he retired in 2008 and moved into Regency Manor in 2014.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Lena Swanson; father and mother-in-law, John and Annie Currie; and brothers-in-law, Bob Long and Ernie White. Melvin is survived by his wife, Ann Swanson; brothers, Gordon (Betty) Swanson and Roy Swanson; sisters, Dorothy Long and Delores White; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special extended family member, Larry Small.
The family would like to thank both the staff at Regency Manor and all the past staff that looked after Mel with such wonderful care. You are very special people and Mel loved you all!
In keeping with Melvin’s wishes, a Private Family Interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Melvin’s name may be made to the Central Butte Regency Manor Auxiliary, Box 582, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0. Dear Ann, our deepest sympathy on your loss, you and Larry were always there for Mel. That’s true love! You brought much joy to so many of the residents in Regency Manor as well.

Bob and I were glad to be able to visit with Melvin before Bob got so sick himself and was unable to travel.
Bob always enjoyed his talks and visits with Melvin.
