Brian Drew Mackenzie
Brian Drew Mackenzie quietly passed away at the age of 45 years on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK, after a short fight with cancer. Brian was predeceased by his husband, Joe and is survived by his parents, Barry and Brenda Mackenzie; brother, Brad Mackenzie (Laura); numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and nephews; and boyfriend, Doug Mackenzie.
Brian was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia in 1979, where he started school. His parents then moved to Borden, ON where he went to school in Angus, only to move again to Moose Jaw, SK where he finished his schooling and graduated out of Peacock High School.
Brian was a very hard worker, taking on numerous jobs to feed his habit of buying and fixing cars. He ended his job search when he found the perfect fit at Van Décor, where he became the expert of all things electronic. Everyone from his boss to the people that had their equipment worked on by him thought he was a mild genius.
Brian was the first person to volunteer to help his brother, cousin or friend fix their cars or help his parents move furniture. He was a guy you could always depend on.
Brian will live in our hearts forever. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s name may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Ave, Regina, SK S4W 0G3. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
