Martina Ann McEvoy
Martina Ann McEvoy aged 48 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024. Martina was born and grew up in Mountmellick, northern Laois County, Ireland which is where she began her education. She later went on to earn a degree in Hotel Management at the Dublin Institution of Technology. Martina had a passion for travel. After graduating university, she moved to Canada, where she eventually made Saskatchewan her home. Martina was known for her compassionate nature, giving spirit, and witty sense of humor. Martina was a social butterfly who involved herself with many different local hobbies, and clubs, after arriving in Canada. These activities, in which she embraced her Irish heritage, quickly led to her building relationships and making friends along the way that eventually became her Canadian family.
Martina was a faithful member of the Catholic churches here in Moose Jaw and was always willing to lend a helping hand and words of comfort to whomever needed it. She had a passion for music and singing, and always made sure to keep her Irish culture by participating in local groups by playing her bodhrán, tin whistle, or Irish dancing. She was also a member of the Regina Philharmonic Chorus as a Soprano vocalist. Additionally, Martina had a passion for helping others and pursued this passion through homeopathy. She could always be found in her office, digging through textbooks and remedies, trying to find ways to help her clients.
Martina’s personality brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered, and her passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved her. Martina’s memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around her with her kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit.
She was predeceased by her father Liam M. Martina’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her survivors, her daughters: Sarah M, Bethany M, and Laura M; mother, Margaret M; sister, Siobhan M; and brothers: Brian M, Richard M, Emmet M, and Alan M.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre of Regina, SK, and Pioneer Lodge of Moose Jaw, SK, for their exceptional care of Martina during her battle with cancer.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 6th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW in Moose Jaw. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Rest in Peace Martina!! You have been my friend for many years: a partner in crime on union trips and trainings; a much loved confidant when helping me deal with my husband’s cancer and his passing; and just being there when I needed to talk. I will always remember how excited you were to be singing again. that call seemed to last the whole night. You always seemed to know when I needed to hear your voice. I just knew there was a reason you have been a focal point of my thoughts for the last few days. May the angels carry you to your heavenly rewards, and may you watch over us all, until we meet again.
