Barbara Stonechild
Barbara was a wife and homemaker; this was the life she loved. A beautiful seamstress, she loved knitting and crocheting. She made doll clothes, crafty creations, and delicious cherry cake that she gifted to family. Barbara was an avid reader and a pianist and loved the quiet life. She met Gerry, her polar opposite, while both served in the Air Force. He was an outgoing, friendly, sociable, fun-loving guy who helped Barb move beyond her comfort zone. Gerry loved to golf, fish and to join his friends for morning coffee. He joined Terry Fox for the first few miles of his Marathon and has been a lifelong supporter. Gerry’s passion was in “Bridging the Gap”, teaching Aboriginal Awareness to his community and beyond.
I am sorry to read of Barb’s passing. She was a caring friend and coffee buddy to my mom and her circle of friends. I am not sure she ever watched a game, but she kept a watchful eye on the comings and goings at Ross Wells Park. She was interested in the baseball careers of our sons and their adventures after leaving home. She kept up-to-date by chatting with my husband when he volunteered doing groundskeeping at the ball park and where ever else our paths crossed. RIP Barb.
