Jeanette Ieleen Gabel
May 1, 1940 – July 15, 2024
Jeanette Ieleen Gabel (nee Schikowsky), passed away in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 84. Jeanette was born to parents Veronica and Peter Schikowsky in Avonlea, SK. She was the youngest of six children. Jeanette grew up on a farm near Avonlea, then moved to Regina where she met her husband John. They were married on February 28, 1960. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1961 where they raised six children together. Jeanette loved her family and her garden. She was an amazing cook and made every occasion special. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Jeanette is survived in eternal memory by her six children: Theresa (Jim), Bonita (Brad), Donna (Kurt), Kimberly (Terry), Marcia (Rick) and Mark. As well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass to Celebrate Jeanette’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw SK. Reverend Bert Lillo will be the presiding celebrant and a private family interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
