Lynn Burdette Anderson
Lynn Burdette Anderson, a longtime resident of Marquis and most recently Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, peacefully passed away at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in the early hours of Friday, June 21st, 2024, with his family at his side. Lynn was born on July 6th, 1930, on his aunt’s farm in the Marquis District. He was educated in rural schools and Keeler, SK and he proudly served in The Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953. He began farming at the young age of 12 and continued this passion until his retirement in 2004. On April 27th, 1955, Lynn married Mary Elizabeth Froehlich, and together they established their homestead on a quarter section 3 miles south of his childhood home. They were blessed with three children: Tamara in 1958, Daniel in 1960, and Eric in 1962. Lynn was known for his careful stewardship of the land, and he cherished his role as a loving husband of 69 years, an exceptional father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In his leisure time, Lynn found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, especially treasuring fishing as his top pastime because it allowed him to share special moments with his family. Lynn’s fishing expeditions spanned from the Pacific Ocean to Uranium City and across Saskatchewan, where he even maintained his own trout stock at the home dugout on the farm. Lynn will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary; children: Tammy Olson (Andy), Dan Anderson (Lori), and Eric Anderson (Angel); grandchildren: Mark, Sarah, Tony, Christine, Tera, Brett, and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Korra and Sevania; sister, Gayle Skeoch; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandchild, Tyrell; brothers, Claire and Bill; and sister, Paulette. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Joseph’s Parish, 1064 3rd Ave NW in Moose Jaw. Interment will follow at Marquis Cemetery in Marquis, SK. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lynn’s name may be made to the St. John’s Cemetery Fund, Box 54, Marquis, SK S0H 2X0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
My sincere condolences Mary and family from my mom and I. Although she has dementia she will often speak of Lynn with admiration, commenting how close they were growing up. May he rest easy now. Love and prayers. Maxine
Dear Mary and family,

May he rest in Peace.
Father Rick
To Mary and the Anderson family: My sincerest condolences on Lynn’s passing. As I learn of your loss this morning, I am reminded of the many things that Mary and Lynn did, together with the rest of the St. Joseph’s Prayer Group, to support my boys and myself while we lived in Moose Jaw more than 39 years ago. Because I feel forever in their debt, I am sorry that I cannot attend the Funeral Mass today. Lynn was a good man and he will be missed.
Our deepest sympathy to Aunt Mary and the family. We pray you find comfort in memories of a life well lived.
Dave & Shelley Froehlich
