Jeannette Ruth Nurse
With a heart overflowing with love and laughter, our beloved Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 13th, 2024. Jeannette Ruth Nurse was 78 years old and lived a life full of joy, humour and adventure until her last days with her family by her side.
Jeannette will be missed dearly by her son, Richard Nurse and wife Tracey; son, Byron Nurse and wife Shawna; daughter, Rochelle Squires and husband Daniel; daughter, Pat Nurse; her beloved grandchildren: Tyler (Kara-Lynn) and Josh (Taryn) Kehler, Corbin and Kylie Nurse, Rileigh and Jaylen Nurse, Ashley and Preston Nurse, and Nicole, Chantal, and Melanie Brunet; and her beautiful great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Theodore and Hart. Her brother and lifelong best friend, Sidney Squires, wife Gayle, and nieces Tracey (Rick) and Tricia (Gary) and families will also miss her dearly.
Jeannette’s favourite part about going to work was her friendships, and she made several at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, where she worked in dietary and then on the mental health unit before retiring in 2006. Retirement never slowed her down as she immediately became active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, taking on leadership roles until the very end. She was overjoyed to join a sisterhood of Red Hat Ladies for loads of laughter and joy, wearing that red hat with style. She lived at the Elks Senior Citizens Homes for the last twenty years and was grateful for her cozy home and wonderful neighbours.
Jeannette was rich in friendship and had more best friends than anyone could imagine, including Darlene, Blanche, Barb, Flo, and Yvette, and so many more that we couldn’t possibly list all of you but know that mom cherished each and every one of you.
Meeting Jeannette in heaven are her mom, Ruth (Adolf) Grabowski; father, Richard Squires; and husband Roy Allen Nurse.
Always loved, forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Jeannette’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating, followed by an interment at Rosedale Cemetery. The Ladies Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles will host a luncheon afterward and all her friends and loved ones are welcome. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Richard please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother and a wonderful lady, I worked with her at the hospital for many years and she was always so pleasant and kind to her patients and co workers, truly one of a kind, I then had the opportunity to see her at the Eagles when they were making meals for Covid and again we had weekly laughs and great chats. She will be missed for sure by all.

Condolences to her family..It is so hard to lose your Mom . May memories of happy times shared give you strength at this time. She was a “doer” always doing something, making something..being busy baking pies..with her cup of coffee always there. She was so proud of her kids and Grandkids.
Sorry for your loss.Jeanette and I kept in touch especially at Christmas. Everytime I saw a picture of Jeanette she reminded me of my mom. They looked so much alike at the end. They are both angels in heaven now.Agnes Petersen Murrin.

She will now look down to you from heaven and be so proud of the children she raised. She is your guardian angel. All of my Love goes out to my dear friends and your families.
