Dale Lasota
February 12th, 1961 – May 28th, 2024
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dale Lyndon Lasota aged 63 years of Moose Jaw, SK, announce his passing on Tuesday May 28th, 2024, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Reginal Hospital in Moose Jaw, after a brave, courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born in Herbert, SK on February 12th, 1961, to Andy and Helen Lasota of Chaplin, SK. When Dale completed high school he farmed alongside his father, which included grain farming, cattle and horses. He soon moved to Uren, SK and farmed in the Chaplin district. Dale was a councillor for several years as well as Deputy Reeve, and a member of the Chaplin’s Lions Club.
Dale spent several years working in the Alberta Oilfields with Gibson Energy, then eventually owned his own semi as an owner operator. In 2007 Dale moved to Moose Jaw, SK and was employed with Federated Co-operatives Limited out of Regina with K & M Trucking right up until his passing.
In 2011, Dale met his beautiful, kind-hearted and loving fiancé, Amy Sand. Together in their home they enjoyed so many wonderful times with family and friends. They enjoyed going to concerts, the Craven Country Jamboree with his treasured nephews, the Dominican Republic, Las Vegas, camping, Saskatchewan Roughrider games, and enjoyed so many good times out with their wonderful friends and neighbors.
Dale was always on the run from the time he was little. Everything was done fast and in a hurry. He had the gift of a conversationalist from the age of 2 and he could talk for hours, and if you were a stranger, he was your friend by the end of the night. He was an incredible jack of all trades. He could fix and repair anything, and if you called, he would show up as soon as he could with his array of tools in one hand and a bucket of KFC in the other. His famous words after completion of a task were “Problem solved or whatever.”
His heart was huge for anyone in time of need, he never knew the word no and his work ethic was second to none. Dale stood strong and true to fairness and justice for all, no matter what the cause was, that was dear to his heart or for his loved ones and friends. Dale was known and loved by so many, his presence and laughter will leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone that knew and loved him. He was a fun-loving uncle, cousin, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, who was famous for his huge chocolate treats!
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Dorothy Lasota; maternal grandparents, George and Minnie Gleim; father, Andy Lasota in 2019; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dale is survived by his loving fiancé, Amy; cherished mother, Helen Lasota of Regina, SK; Amy’s parents, Pat and Harvey Sand of Moose Jaw, SK; Dale’s daughter, Danielle (Jeremy) Aichelle of Red Deer, AB and their children Kahel, Hailey and Hayes and great-grandson Jordan; daughter, Jacie (Mike) Borrebach of Lloydminster, AB and their children Taydem, Emmett and Brynlee; brother: Ron (Karen) Lasota of Chaplin, SK and their children Jason, Greg and Brandon; Dale’s caring sister, Wendy (Wayne) Kraus of Regina, SK and their children Cody Andrews, Clay (Jesse) Andrews and their children Jackson and Isabella, Jared (Jocelyn) Kraus of Moose Jaw, SK and their children Ayden and Lukas, Megan (Chris) and Kyle (Janelle) all of Moose Jaw, SK; Amy’s brothers: John (Lianne) Sand of Limerick, SK and their children Dakota, Dawson, Cole, Leah (Kevin) and Emily (Caitlyn), Evan (Sherri) Sand of Limerick, SK and their children Lee and Weston, Ted (Sarah) Sand of Thode, SK and their children Gracie, Olivia and Walker, and Tom Sand of Saskatoon, SK. Dale will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and the many wonderful friends he made through his life’s journey.
What an incredible legacy he left behind, if only more people could be like Dale – kind, considerate, and dedicated, to show up and be present when needed, this world would be a much better place. A wonderful well-respected man with a heart of gold who had to answer one more call, this time from God. Heaven needed him to make one more journey – Dale answered “10-4” Over and out dear loved ones…a new road to explore.
We know in our hearts as Dale approached the Golden Gates, an assembly would be immediately scheduled to right the many wrongs in this world for his many loved ones and dear friends and how the world could be a better place.
A Private Immediate Family Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday June 5th, 2024 at the Chaplin Cemetery, Chaplin, SK followed by a private family luncheon at the Chaplin Community Hall. In lieu of flowers or donations, Dale’s wish would be to hug your family and loved ones, go out for supper, have fun and enjoy the precious time with family and friends in his honor. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
