In his true fashion of putting others first, he took Vicky shopping for her ring after he asked her to marry him. They were married on February 13, 1996. Pete passed away after a tough battle with cancer on August 31, 2017. Pete spent many hours basking in the sun at his cottage at the lake. Many gatherings with friends and family were spent around the bonfire, enjoying a beverage or two, and sometimes even having to hold up a tree. Pete enjoyed playing hours of cards, whether it was Confusion Rummy, Crib, or Hearts. The salt and vinegar chips were never too far away and he always made sure his company felt at home. Pete loved all of his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and especially loved when they came to visit or was watching them play sports. He was always the quiet spectator, but his wide smile spoke all the words he needed to say. Pete really was a jack of all trades. In his spare time, he hemmed pants, built decks, fixed lawn mowers, and cooked an amazing pot of macaroni and cheese.
