Alivia Morgan Reese Muri
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Alivia at the age of 22 years. Alivia Morgan Reese Muri was born in Saskatoon, SK on April 9th, 2001. Her smile lit up her whole face and we saw it often. She was a beautiful little baby and grew up to be a beautiful young woman.
Alivia was talented in many ways. She took an archery class one summer, and the sport came very naturally to her. She was a talented artist and some of her paintings are displayed alongside her Grandpa Philip’s artwork in his shop. She also did skilled pencil drawings. Alivia loved to write. When someone suggested that journaling would be a good idea, she immediately began writing about her feelings and her wishes for her future.
Alivia and her mother made beautiful beadwork items, and Alivia made ribbon skirts for herself and others. She had two cats and had taught one to obey the commands come, sit and fetch. Alivia loved being at the lake, gathering stones and shells on the beach with her brother. They spent many hours in the water. She gathered sage to take home to the city to smudge with. Alivia had a close bond with her brother. The whole family loved to go to Wakamow Valley in Moose Jaw, SK to walk, talk, and enjoy nature.
The family often teased Alivia and called her a “clean freak” because she loved cleaning and was so good at it. What a great skill to have! Of course, her mother and grandmother made good use of that talent of hers!
She was predeceased by her sister, Makayla and uncle, Tulsa. Alivia is survived by her mother, Shannon; brother, Kimiwan; aunts, Allison (Ray) and Leanne (John); uncles, Miles (Pat) and Osburn; cousins: Neaera, Marya (Nathan)and their children Angelo and Mya, Adam (Melissa) and their children Katherine and Benjamin, Truman (Amy), Lauren (Zach), Aram, Koan (Cierra), and a large extended Muri and Gross family.
A Private Family Service was held to honor Alivia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alivia’s name may be made to Square One Community in Moose Jaw, SK. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
