David (Dave) Arnold Watkins

David (Dave) Arnold Watkins passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge on the evening of Sunday, November 5th, 2017 at the age of 91 years.  He was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Amy; and brothers: Hank, Albert and George.  Dave is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby; sons, David (Lori) and Lenard (Sharon); daughter, Chereen (Denis); grandchildren: Carly, Kent, Rhian, Kaitlin, Chantal, and Danielle; great-grandchildren, Isobel and Alex; and brothers, Frank and John.  Dave was a family man who enjoyed travelling, hunting, fishing, and coaching minor sports.  He was active in church and community activities and the Masons.  Dave was a successful farmer and cattleman in the Aylesbury area, where he continued sharing his knowledge on his son’s farming operation before moving to Moose Jaw in 1999.  Dave’s life was well lived and an inspiration to his family and many friends.  He faced challenges with courage and always faced his many friends with a smile.  A family memorial service will be held in honour and remembrance of Dave’s life in May 2018.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s name may be made to the Aylesbury Memorial Cemetery c/o Ron Mittelholtz, Aylesbury, SK S0G 0B0.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
