Lyle Gordon Carter
April 28th, 1957 – July 26th, 2023
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Lyle Carter, who left us on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023. Lyle, the youngest son of Cecil and Velma Carter, grew up in Moose Jaw, SK alongside his two brothers. After school, Lyle explored various jobs. One job that truly captured his heart was at the Humane Society, where his love for animals shone brightly. In 1999, a new adventure began as Lyle joined the Westcan Bulk Transport apprenticeship program. By 2003, he proudly earned his Journeyman Truck Transport Mechanic certification.
In 2004, Lyle and Annette set up home in Watrous, SK and Lyle found his groove at Henry Kelly Tractor, now known as Mazergroup. For over a decade, he put his expertise to work, leaving a lasting impact. In 2016, he transitioned to Melron Services, where he continued to shine. Lyle’s work wasn’t just a job; it was a passion that left an imprint on everyone he worked with.
As much as Lyle loved animals, he loved people. He was always ready to stop and have a chat and a few laughs with anyone he met. His infectious smile and warm conversations made him a friend to all. He was always up for a good donut and a good cup of coffee.
He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Velma Carter; brother, Keith; in-laws, Gaston and Val Tremblay; and sister-in-law, Gale. Lyle will be mourned and lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years, Annette; children: April (Tyler), Tyler (Terri), Amanda (Chad); stepsons, Ryan (Kim) and Brad (Mandy); brother, Lawrence (Sandra); special nephew, Laurie (Cheryl); brothers-in-law: Len (Janice), Robin (Michele), and Randy (Cheryl); along with his 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Lyle’s life will take place on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Our Lady Community Center, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK. Those who wish to honor Lyle’s memory may make a donation to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
Gone but never forgotten…until we meet again.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
