Paul Peter Thiele
Paul Peter Thiele (June 1st, 1949 – July 21st, 2023) passed peacefully surrounded by his wife of 52 years, Joyce, his children and granddaughters. Paul was born in Moose Jaw, SK to Mary and Otto Thiele and grew up and went to school in Spring Valley, SK and Moose Jaw. He met Joyce at a dance and they were married in 1970. Paul worked at the Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw and at the Claybank Brick Plant prior to accepting the job as the municipal administrator for the RM of Scott in Yellow Grass, SK. Paul and Joyce raised their family in Yellow Grass, and Paul was active in the local Lions Club, as well as minor hockey. After over 30 years with the RM, Paul retired in 2012 and he and Joyce eventually moved to Moose Jaw to be closer to extended family. For the past 12 years, they were snowbirds, spending the winter months in Weslaco, TX, with Paul golfing 3-4 times a week and hosting many happy hours. As per Paul’s wishes, there will be a celebration of his life at the Eagles Club in Moose Jaw, 561 Home Street West on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s name to the Yellow Grass Rink. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
