Wilbert Wourms
Wilbert Wourms passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Regina General Hospital on his 85th birthday, Oct 7, 2017, after a 15 month long health struggle. Wilbert was born in Fulda, SK. He married the love of his life, Angeline Ilg in 1962 and together they raised 3 children. The biggest joy in Wilbert’s life was his family and his grandchildren. He always looked forward to visits and was proud of all their accomplishments. Wilbert was a kind man who lived by a strong faith in God. He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Parish and was proud to have been an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Wilbert worked for the Department of Highways until his retirement in 1987. Wilbert loved tinkering in his workshop where he fixed, repaired, and created everything. He enjoyed carpentry and after his retirement helped all his children with their building projects. Wilbert loved the outdoors and his happy times were spent camping with his wife and family in the north, especially at Little Bear Lake. His lifelong passion was hunting and fishing. He was happy to pass this love along to his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Walburga; siblings: Norman, James, Florianna, and Bernice; in-laws: Jim Lukan and Arnold Friestadt. Wilbert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Angeline; his children: Dale (Kathy), Charlene (Rob) Clarke, Karen (Lester) Whittingham; grandchildren: Rebecca (Matt) Davies, Tyler Whittingham, Faith Whittingham, Samantha Whittingham, Colman Wourms, and Victoria Wourms; sibings: Thelma (Lorne) Gasmo, Donna (Martin) Nienaber, Mary (Richard) Niekamp, Daniel (Audrey) Wourms; in-laws: Armella Wourms, Velma Wourms; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Avenue N.W. Father Rick Krofchek will be presiding celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date in Nokomis Cemetery. As an expression sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.
