Arthur Gross
Arthur Gross, aged 93 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Bayard, SK passed away on Friday, March 18th, 2022. Our beloved Arthur was born in Moose Jaw on May 22nd, 1928, part of a big family, and received his education at Hapsburg School one mile from his home near Bayard. Arthur was sweet, humble, gentle and patient, and became evermore so as he aged. He was quick with a smile and a laugh and loved his music. He would sing a line, yodel, play the fiddle, guitar and harmonica, and always pitch perfect unless he wanted to fool around. He loved his beautiful, talented wife, Norma, who saved him and gave him the best life. They were married for 69 years and together had 5 smart, hardworking children, 12 grandkids, and 14 great-grandchildren that have big, warm hearts just like his and loved his company. Arthur loved to farm and spend all day in the field, first with his dad and then right beside his wife, son and daughter-in-law. The work could be hard but the rewards were plentiful, each day was what you made it. The spring, summer and fall seemed endless, his prized Masseys, an 1135 and Super 92, made the work all the more fun. Long after he and Norma retired to Moose Jaw in 1984, Arthur would always be out to the farm to lend a hand and teach his grandsons his secrets. In his youth he had travelled with his brothers to BC and the Yukon, and upon retirement, he and Norma had many more adventures across the continent. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Teresa; and will now be visiting with many of his brothers and sisters that also went before him. Arthur is survived by his siblings: Katie, Ann, Phyllis, Vickie and Donald. He will be lovingly remembered by them and his wife, Norma; sons, Vaughn (Marilyn) and Perry (Sandy); and daughters: Penny (Jerome), Kim (Mark) and Bliss (Denis). As his health began to fail, when asked “how are you doing?” he would say “not too bad”. That was so Arthur, always humble and brave. We know life can be hard sometimes, but with your loving and devoted family it’s never impossible, it’s actually not too bad, not too bad at all.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Those not able to attend are invited to view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on Arthur’s passing. What a beautiful life he lived! Thinking of all of you!
To my aunt Norma, and cousins Vaughn, Perry, Penny, Kim, Bliss and their families I offer my deepest condolences. Uncle Art was like father to me on those occasions I stayed out at the farm with your family. I still remember riding on the tractor with him when I was a kid when a little rabbit jumped out in front of the tractor. He stopped and I jumped off the tractor to catch the rabbit. That darn thing zigged and zagged and it took forever to catch it. All the while uncle Art waited patiently laughing and/ or smiling while that city kid chased down that rabbit. He then helped me contain the rabbit, as I planned to take it home with me. When I became older I remember family gatherings with uncle Art. He was always full of life, smiling, laughing, and singing. I still recall how he and uncle Don stayed up all night gathering and when I awoke early the next morning he was still singing and yodelling with a big smile on his face. I will always treasure the memories I have of my uncle Art. Again I offer my deepest condolences to your family.
Norma, we are thinking of you at this sad time. Our heart felt sympathy goes out to you and your family. Darlene and Jim Purdy

To all of the Arthur Gross family and relatives, Brenda and I want to wish you all our sincere condolences on the passing of Art. Good bless.
My love and sympathy, Norma and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Uncle Arthur came for a visit to Devon with his brother Don, they along with their sis, our Gram Katie came to visit at our home. This is about 10 years ago. Our girls Hallie and Jacey were just little and they took to his warm, gentle ways. Gram talked to me about it when we visited this past Sunday. She described he would talk about his visit to our home and his fondness for our little girls, he especially loved how they said they loved him. So cute. His lasting impression is felt on Gram and she will surely miss her loving brother. Our most deep condolences, and heartfelt love to the the beautiful family he and Norma created together.
xxoo Rhonda, Jason, Hallie and Jacey
Norma and family. Sorry to hear about Art. Our condolences to all of you.
My sincere sympathy to your family.
Thinking of all the families during this difficult time. Art and Norma lived a few houses from us and were wonderful folks to have in our neighbourhood. Art was always so kind.
To Marilyn and Vaughn and all your families, my sincerest condolences on your loss!! My mom, Mary, always spoke so fondly of her terrific brother, Arthur, who gave her inspiration along with Anton, as they were all in the Hapsburg school together, challenging each other! Through the years, going to the farm family was such fun, and Art was always so jovial and friendly!! He loved family gatherings and even at the Gross reunion, everyone had such fun!! Your memories will keep you grounded as you keep living life with its joys and painful days. I am forever thankful for my extended family and know that you are all loved , valued, and appreciated. Sincerest peace and calm as you lay Arthur to rest and celebrate his life in June on that special day!! From Margaret Symon-Lungal, niece of Arthur
